Testimonials from the 2006 Warriors On the Water

Return to Home Page

Bob / Greg / Hal,

I just wanted to say “Thanks”.  Last Friday was awesome, and I am grateful that I was afforded the opportunity to participate in the WOW fishing tournament.  I had a great time; even though the fishing was tough, I learned a lot from my fellow fisherman and boater, Cory Williams.  Thanks again for everything.

Respectfully,

Rusty Helms

Great Job Hal! Awesome! You must be very proud of this accomplishment. I know we are!
That was an exciting story. We appreciate what you have done for the troops.

I had a blast at the WOW.  Yall did a great job with it.  Do you know of anywhere where the results of the tournament will be posted.  I am interested to see where I ended up out of 57 boats.  This was the biggest tourny (# of boats) I ever participated in.  Tight Lines

We just got that awesome banner for WARRIORS ON THE WATER with all the signatures and thank you letter.  What a nice surpise -- and the "girls" love it!!  We'll put it up on the wall so everyone can see it (it's laying on one of the work tables with everyone poring over it right now!!).  Thanks so much for doing that for us!*#

Appreciate you taking the time to put such an event together. It is great to know that people like you and your team are giving them that little bit of extra recognition which they would not request or expect. Thanks for doing this and I am thankful that so many Americans are recognizing the selfless service of these patriots and warriors.

Good Morning,

It is a small world.  Yesterday, on my flight from Atlanta to MKE, I sat next to a returning vet from Iraq .  We talked about his two-week processing delay @ Ft. Bragg and how he got to know Fayetteville area.  I mentioned that one of our employees participated in a fishing tournament that included Ft. Bragg troops.  He said one of his friends participated in the tournament and really enjoyed it.

It was very emotional to see this 36 year old man greeted by his three small children and hug from his wife you could feel across the airport.   This was a great way to end a trip.

THANKS---these guys deserve this kind of support.

That sounds like it turned out very nice and an enriching experience for everyone. That is always how it is when we give to someone else, we are usually ones that get Blessed even more!! Praise God! Keep up that positive spirit.

News and observer got nothing on Mt. Pleasant!
We will have an article appear in the Church Newsletter Sunday.
A fitting tribute to you and the other fishermen and our heroes.
Since this Newsletter will be dedicated to our Vets. And active service.

Thanks, Hal. It was a great event and you (and your boys) should be proud of your efforts. I know the troops loved the day, and ditto for the guys on the coast, both troops and volunteers. I gave you name and number to Rich Anderson from the MAD group. He said he may want to pick brains about the events next year.
Any hoo, it was a pleasure to cover it.
